  • What is the difference between the EX29 Plus and the EX25 Plus?
The EX-29 has a Noise Reduction Rating of 29 dB and weighs 11.5 ounces. The EX-25 is more compact, has an NRR of 25 dB and weighs 2 ounces less. While both models feature TruSound Tonal Accuracy, the EX-29s use ultra-fidelity speakers with a sensitivity of 114 dB at 1,000 Hz. EX-25s feature a sensitivity of 107 dB at 1,000 Hz.
  • What is NRR?
NRR or Noise Reduction Rating is a standard rating for how much a given product reduces external sound. The problem when specifying noise reduction amounts is that it varies with frequency – treble is generally reduced much more than bass. For example, the EX-29 attenuates 36.7 dB at 8,000 Hz and 25.2 dB at 500 Hz. NRR is used to give a standard single number as a convenient way to compare apples to apples. Other manufacturers often specify their noise reduction figures by using only a single high frequency to make their product look better. We could just as easily claim our EX-29s attenuate by 36.7 dB and we wouldn’t be telling a fib, but we don’t believe in misleading our customers. Rest assured the EX-29 and EX-25 offer the industry’s best isolation across all frequencies.
  • Do Direct Sound Headphones require batteries?
No seperate batteries are required for any of Direct Sound Headphones. Direct Sound headphones are environmentally responsible passive isolation to naturally isolate unwanted sound without batteries. The EXTW37 Wireless Pro with Mic Headphones does have rechargable batteries in each ear cup.

  • Do the headphones block all sound?
No. The headphones are designed so that you can still “feel” the sound pressure of your instrument.
  • How can you tell the right ear from the left ear?
The right channel speaker cover is solid red so that you can easily identify the right channel in dim light or when in a hurry. No need to frustrate yourself looking for a tiny R or L. Remember – Red is Right.
  • How do I use the adapter?
Your model headphone may come with a srew-on 1/4" (6.3mm) jack adapter. This can be removed to reveal a 1/8" (3.2mm) jack adapter. Simply unscrew the adapter. The 1/4" jack adapter can loosen with regular use and casue static., so please be sure to scew on tightly.
